The Kingdom and Romania sign a memorandum of understanding to improve the trade exchange of agricultural products.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, today signed a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development in Romania at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh. The aim is to strengthen the framework of joint cooperation between the two countries in the agricultural sector and to achieve national targets and the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.
The memorandum seeks to create favorable conditions in both countries to enhance the framework of economic development in agriculture and rural development and to cooperate in the use of modern technologies. This aims to improve agricultural production and increase the efficiency of managing animal and plant resources, thereby enhancing their capacities to achieve food security and sustainable economic prosperity.
The memorandum includes enhancing cooperation in the plant sector and the livestock sector, with a focus on breeding and improving cattle, sheep, and goats. It also encompasses the development and promotion of the use of modern technologies in agriculture and animal health matters.
According to the memorandum, the parties agreed to improve the trade exchange of agricultural products and to cooperate in agricultural research fields and the development of field crop research and plant varieties. Additionally, both sides aim to enhance cooperation in modern beekeeping technologies and their automation.
This memorandum comes in the context of strengthening the friendly relations and bonds of friendship between Saudi Arabia and Romania, recognizing the importance of joint cooperation in achieving sustainable development.
