Economic Sector Contributions to Noth Macedonia's GDP
In North Macedonia, the services sector is the largest contributor to GDP, accounting for 58.8%. Tourism is a key component of this sector, celebrated for the country's rich cultural and natural heritage and scenic landscapes. The sector also includes financial services, telecommunications, information technology, healthcare, and education.
The industrial and mining sector is the second largest, contributing 23% to the GDP. Important industries include mining, due to North Macedonia's rich natural mineral resources like copper, lead, and zinc. Additionally, the country has robust furniture and timber, textile and clothing manufacturing, as well as production of electronic and electrical products including home appliances and electrical systems, and the food and beverage industry.
Agriculture accounts for about 8.1% of the GDP. Key agricultural products include olives, grapes for wine, fruits and vegetables, grains such as wheat, corn, barley, and oats, and aromatic herbs and tea.
