Economic Sector Contributions to Kosovo's GDP

Historically, the main sectors contributing to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the Republic of Kosovo have been agriculture, industry, and services. Agriculture includes crop cultivation such as grains, fruits, and vegetables, while industry encompasses food and beverage manufacturing, clothing manufacturing, chemical products, construction, and mining. Services include sectors such as financial services, trade, transportation, communications, tourism, logistics services, education, healthcare, among others. The contribution of each sector may vary over the years depending on economic conditions and internal and external developments.

The services sector ranks first, contributing 58.5% to the total Gross Domestic Product (GDP), with a value of $5.5 billion. This sector encompasses various activities such as information, communication, software, tourism, hotels, restaurants, and entertainment.

The industry sector ranks second in importance, contributing 12.9% to the total GDP, with a value of $1.2 billion. Key industries include food processing, mineral processing, plastics, and wood processing.

The agriculture, forestry, and mining sector (Primary Sector) contribute 8.8% to the total GDP, with a value of $0.8 billion. Key agricultural crops include wheat, corn, berries, potatoes, peppers, and fruits; dairy and livestock products. Fish.
